Implementation Planning

Working with you to assess your environment and needs, we outline the scope of services to be provided. Visual Network Systems experts work with you to determine the best plan for implementing Visual Performance Manager in your environment while minimizing the burden on your IT staff. The implementation planning session includes:

• Architecture consultation to optimize performance and maximize visibility by identifying the best location within the network for each Visual Network Systems product module
• Identification of preimplementation testing and security audits, as required by your policies
• Acceptance testing, based on your specifications
• Engagement documentation requirements, based on your specifications

Installation Roadmap

Based on your goals, an installation roadmap for the Visual Performance Manager products you have licensed will be developed for your review and approval.

A preinstallation checklist will be used to identify required resources, such as IT staff contacts for obtaining information about routers, switches, servers, applications and other elements necessary for performing advanced configuration. Setup issues (configuring network and security settings, and downloading updates and virus protection)are discussed and incorporated. Completion of the preinstallment checklist will drive scheduling of the onsite engagement.

Onsite Engagement

Our performance experts will install and configure Visual Performance Manager product modules per the installation roadmap mutually agreed upon. Before we leave your site, we will confirm that your Visual Performance Manager solution is operating according to the expectations established in the installation roadmap. If tasks on the preinstallation checklist are not completed prior to our arrival onsite, this may impact our ability to complete the installation during the allotted time, and may require negotiation of a follow-up visit or remote access requirement.

Implementation Documentation

Following the onsite engagement, we will conduct a two-hour Webex session with you to review implementation documentation and answer any questions. A detailed implementation documentation report is produced following the engagement with exact configuration for each Visual Performance Manager product module installed. Backup configuration files will be made available.
